What is Radiesse?
RADIESSE is an injectable wrinkle filler that immediately adds volume while also stimulating your body’s own natural collagen for long-lasting results. RADIESSE is made of Calcium Hydroxylapatite (CaHA) microspheres, which over time, your body metabolizes, leaving your own natural collagen in its place. Our board-certified dermatologists inject RADIESSE into areas of the face that have volume loss and wrinkles. Typically, RADIESSE is injected into the lines that run from the nose to the mouth (nasolabial folds), the lines from the edges of the mouth to the chin (marionette lines), wrinkles in the chin, and corners of the mouth. RADIESSE can also be injected into the hands to minimize the aging effect of volume loss. With natural results that last from twelve to eighteen months, Bay Area Cosmetic Dermatology is proud to offer RADIESSE injectable wrinkle treatments our San Francisco patients.
Radiesse® Reviews
Who is an ideal Candidate for RADIESSE?
RADIESSE is a wonderful option for anyone who would like a long-lasting treatment to replace volume loss in the face or hands. Our dermatologists often recommend this filler for patients who would like to contour their jawline.
What to Expect during RADIESSE injections
During your initial cosmetic consultation, Dr. Kathleen Welsh or Dr. Andrea Hui Austin will evaluate your skin and consider the depth of your wrinkles and amount of facial volume loss to estimate the number of syringes needed for your treatment. Prior to injection, one of our skilled medical assistants will apply a topical numbing cream to your skin to make your treatment as comfortable as possible. After RADIESSE is injected, you will notice an immediate softening and smoothing of facial wrinkles and folds. Then your results will continue to develop as your body replaces the filler with its own collagen.
How long is recovery after RADIESSE?
You will see immediate results from your RADIESSE treatment, however, please allow for swelling and redness to subside to see your full results. Downtime and discomfort with RADIESSE treatments are usually minimal. Some patients may develop bruises that will last up to ten days, but this is easily covered with makeup.
