Book NowWhat is Tixel?
Tixel is a unique non-invasive treatment that uses thermo-mechanical action technology (TMA®) to address a wide range of skin concerns. It can help smooth wrinkles, polish skin complexion, soften scars, and even treat dry eye symptoms to name just a few of its indications. Tixel is unlike a traditional light based laser. It is safe for all skin tones, and has minimal downtime with visible improvements after just a few sessions. Tixel’s mode of action is two-fold. Through TMA®, it encourages collagen growth and skin cell renewal, while also amplifying the absorption of post procedure serums that can be customized to address your specific skin goals.
How does Tixel work?
Tixel leverages thermomechanical energy, a technology developed by Novoxel, which combines motion and heat to deliver energy through a titanium tip. The device uses quick, fractionated heat, making it safe for all skin types. Unlike ablative lasers, Tixel preserves the epidermis and stratum corneum, resulting in less downtime for patients. The thermal energy creates tiny, non-ablative micro-injuries that form dehydrated channels, enhancing the absorption of topical treatments for deeper penetration. Our providers will tailor each treatment and apply a post-care solution customized to your specific goals, maximizing the effectiveness of the procedure.
What areas can I treat?
Face, neck and body areas can be treated with Tixel. Popular areas include the eyes, eyelids, around the mouth and scars.
Bay Area Cosmetic Dermatology Reviews
I always have the best experience here. From reception to the incredibly talented doctors and assistants .. it is always the best.
Dr. Welsh is the consummate skin care professional. She is thorough and inquisitive, extremely knowledgeable and informative. Her genuine concern for her patients is clear; and it is the hallmark of her practice. She is as lovely as she is brilliant. BACD treatment rooms share the widest possible variety of equipment designed to treat skin ailments. This investment by Dr. Welsh ensures that each patient will receive the specific and individual care best for the problem that brought them to her. If I could think of how to recommend her more highly, I would. I am grateful for the time Dr. welsh has accorded my family and me.
I have ordered Blink mascara twice from different sellers off Amazon and received products that are not "tubing" and instead flake off. This week I ordered/received "Blink" from Bay Area Cosmetic Dermatology and it is working as I remembered from the first time I tried it, not coming off in flakes, but in tubes. Thank you BACD for providing quality products. No "fakes" here!
After an excruciatingly long and painful search with multiple procedures around the world I finally found Dr. Austin at BACD, from scrolling Instagram no less! I began my journey with a plea to the front office staff to be treated by no one but her and after careful consideration was granted my request. I was clear in my initial consultation with Dr. Austin my priorities were progress and pain management, and even though there were some hiccups along the way, I'm glad we stayed the course. Dr. Austin attends conventions about my condition which primarily affects the highly melanated, and even though I've been treated by published specialists before, it's clear her approach is specialized and reflects the care and dedication she has to her patient's overall well-being. She involves students in her practice who hopefully will carry the torch for future generations to receive treatment and guidance from. Thank you, Dr. Austin!
I’ve been attending Bay Area Cosmetic Dermatologist for many years. All providers and their support staff are highly professional and supportive in their care. More recently, I’ve been seeing Steven He. M.D. and I would highly recommend him to anyone seeking an outstanding dermatologist who takes pride in his work.
