Sofwave uses Heated Ultrasound - a technology we’ve used for more than a decade with Ultherapy to trigger the body’s natural production of collagen. As we age, collagen, the essential protein responsible for skin's elasticity, starts to diminish, leading to sagging and wrinkles. ?Sofwave is different in that it doesn’t go as deep as Ulthera and is more ideally suited for those interested in a lighter lift, preventative services, or who may be pain adverse.
How does Sofwave work?
- Create ‘injury’ in the mid-dermis: Our expert team of registered nurses uses precise and controlled heated ultrasound to target specific areas in the mid-dermis, and safely away from the deeper layer of fat.
- Your body creates new collagen: This happens naturally and progressively over the 3-6 months following treatment.
- Skin is lifted: As collagen is produced, skin is lifted and fine lines are smoothed.

I can't say enough great things about BACD. I always have a great experience when I visit. Today I went in for a Sofwave treatment administered by Stacey Baenen, who is a fantastic practitioner, both in terms of skill and "bedside manner". She always puts me at ease and gives great advice. Dr. Austin also popped in for a few minutes to say hello and offer some advice - she always goes the extra mile, which shows how invested she is in her patients. MINIMAL DOWNTIME, MAXIMUM RESULTS?
The Sofwave device has a built-in cooling mechanism (Sofcool) which makes for more comfortable treatments. We don’t subscribe to ‘No Pain, No Gain’ so we additionally include 30 minutes of numbing time to further decrease any potential for discomfort. As far as downtime, Sofwave does not require any so it is especially welcome to our patients with active lifestyles.
