"I rarely post but I highly recommend Dr Welsh. I have seen her for over 15 years and am so grateful for her medical expertise, her detailed approach to aesthetics, and her top notch diagnostic skills. She has made significant impacts with me and my family members. She was the only dermatologist that was able to diagnose a rare skin disease for me where so many other dermatologist got it wrong. She has spotted itty bitty skin cancer and gave me a top notch referral for treatment. I would have never seen it until it was far more advanced. Dr Welch’s clinical skills are excellent and she has helped me many times with family members with tricky skin situations. In fact, a family member has seen 10 doctors for a skin condition and not one of those highly recommended /esteemed doctor’s could figure it out. Dr Welch was the only who got it right . I feel very grateful for that . I also appreciate that if she is not the right person for a treatment, she has no problem referring you to someone who is- Dr Welch is a smart and confident doctor! While Dr Welch has recently focused her expertise recently more on esthetics , she really considers the whole person. She gives great recommendations and I appreciate her patience with me because I think I probably ask her the same questions about my skin every time I see her. Ha! She sets realistic goals for her clients and will help you feel and look great. If you want a doctor to treat you as a whole person , Dr Welch is for you! "Dr Austin took my decent mid-50's skin and flagging self-esteem and made them really, really great. She flawlessly filled old acne scars, removed pre-cancer bits and rosacea, smoothed wrinkles, snatched up my jawline and explained how anatomy and biochem work during my visits. She's made a long-term plan for me and all her patients that seem like the minimum of highly effective things, so we all look startlingly better but still believable and healthy. Dr Austin is gentle, rational and super trustworthy. She's like a wizard. Her team is awesome, too."

"I have been seeing Dr. Hui Austin for 6 years now and she is the BEST dermatologist who has cared for my skin in my life. I've been seeing dermatologists since I was 12 years old because of acne and I've also moved around the US and Europe. Dr. Hui Austin is honestly a miracle worker. She is always kind and empathetic and I would not entrust my skin to anyone else with some of the procedures I've undergone to "refresh" myself. She helps me with my perioral dermatitis as well as rosacea, and checks me for skin cancer yearly because I worshipped the sun in my younger years. My skin looks amazing. It's as if she has stopped the clock for me and even turned it back! I trust her eye for aesthetics and precision and I've always left her office with a smile. If you are looking to improve the health of your skin or treat yourself to some rejuvenation procedures while still looking glowingly natural I highly recommend Dr. Hui Austin."

"Dr. Hui-Austin is the loveliest doctor I've met in San Francisco. I'm a 90 year old transplant from New York, and Dr. Hui-Austin has successfully treated me for 2 Mohs surgeries, other cancer checks, skin lesions that wouldn't heal on my lower legs, scrapes and falls. The staff treats me with such respect. They help me to the examination room, speak loudly so I can hear and make me feel dignified even as I'm aging. Boy oh boy, am I glad I was recommended to her by another elderly acquaintance. Dr. Hui-Austin is just a good person and a great doctor."

Kathleen Welsh is a perfectionist and a true artist! Dr Welsh knows my style (she knows I don't want to look "over done") and gives (on request) great advice for what I really need (instead of what I thought I needed) often saving me $$. I trust her completely (based on 2 decades of stellar results)! I was introduced to Dr Welsh by a product rep friend (it's part of her job to know everybody in the industry) as a wonderful person and excellent doctor. I have always been glad of every visit! Recently I tried her cleansing pads while camping - who knew you could get refreshed glowing skin w/out water? "So practically overnight, I developed a bright red and very itchy scalp, neck and decollate. My skin was totally inflamed for seemingly no reason. Over a year and a half, I consulted 4 dermatologists in two states seeking a solution and an answer to what caused this. Between these doctors I had a scalp biopsy taken (needed a stitch), was given 3 topical creams, several oral meds, and even a peanut oil based solution to wear on my head, under a plastic cap - overnight for 2 weeks! Talk about annoying and messy. As a new San Franciscan, I made an appointment with Dr Hui for my annual skin check and asked her to take a look. She thought I was either allergic to hair dye or nail polish (allergic contact dermatitis). I was somewhat skeptical about the polish being the cause, I mean after all, how could polish on my nails affect my head? So instead I visited my hair salon to have a glob of hair dye put on my arm, under a bandage, for 48 hours. Thankfully, there was no reaction! So thinking that Dr Hui knows her stuff, I removed the polish on both my fingers and toes. The next day I had no irritation or redness. What a relief and what a simple solution - that no other physician had thought of! Thank you Dr Hui!"
"Doing Me - Botox, Belotero, & VBeam for Variety of Concerns - San Francisco, CA - It's been a few months since I was summarily broken up with by my former partner of 14 years and right before Valentine's was in an emotional place to focus on ME. I had noticed over the last year that my rosacea was getting worse and the under-eye area was getting noticeably "deeper" and not as full as it once was. In addition, having been raised in the sun, I have had a history of skin cancer (basal & squamous) and wanted to find a Dermatologist who could address the medical & my cosmetic needs. After asking friends who they recommend for a Dermatologist, I made an appointment with Dr. Hui. I could not be more pleased. I've seen Dr. Hui twice and I'm thrilled with my skin elasticity, glow, lift, lightness, and overall appearance! The great part is that I don't look "pulled back" or "plastic" or radically different in any way. I look like me and no one has said to me that I look like I've had "work done." The comments that I've had from friends and family is that I look like I'm glowing and no one knows what I've done! My first visit in February with Dr. Hui was to address the areas on my forehead and eye area with Botox. I had zero bruising and it didn't hurt! I expected the injections to hurt from what I had seen on tv but it didn't! I also had Belotero to fill in the deep recesses of my under eye area and immediately I saw the difference! For more 'intensive' procedures like laser, Dr. Hui and the lovely Medical Assistants do their utmost to minimize any discomfort with icepacks, numbing cream, and prednisone. I've had no bruising or discomfort from any of the procedures I've undergone. While there were needles involved with the Botox and Belotero, I didn't feel any pain whatsoever which really surprised me because I bruise very easily. On my second visit, Dr. Hui addressed my pre-cancerous spots, removed a number of skin tags, and I under went the VBeam laser treatment to my entire face to address the redness due to rosacea. Dr. Hui once again was very upfront about the procedure, costs, why she recommended the VBeam, and made sure that I was very comfortable and numb before the laser treatment. The laser treatment went actually faster than I thought it would and she did my entire face and it didn't hurt as much as I was expecting it to. What I appreciate about Dr. Hui is that she is a genuinely caring person and is passionate about her work which comes through. Dr. Hui isn't just a 'pusher' of products which I presume could be 'easy' for a Dermatologist. Dr. Hui takes you, your face, and issues/concerns into consideration and doesn't want to 'fix what's broken'. I have more treatments planned to address the redness of my skin and she'll continue to monitor my pre-cancerous spots and I look forward to seeing her again. I highly recommend seeing Dr. Hui for all your skin needs. Not only is she a great physician but she's really a very approachable and caring person."
"Face Was "Drooping" and Looking Tired... - Brooklyn, NY - Dr. Hui may be the best doctor I have ever encountered (and I have known many more than the average person). She is extremely professional and yet completely nurturing in her interaction with patients. In her work as a Dermatologic Surgeon everything she does "shows" and there's no room for error; as her patient I know this but when I am being treated by her, I forget it and I feel totally at ease. She has treated me for medical (skin cancer) as well as esthetic concerns and I cannot recommend her highly enough. Thank you Dr. Hui!"

"I have gone to Dr. Welsh for years for skin checks, and have been grateful for her thoroughness. I've had a couple of spots removed and certainly felt that there was professionalism and attentiveness, and I am glad I didn't have anything develop into a problem that was harder to cure. I've also had IPL done by both Katie and Jane. Again, very professional, but also friendly. I was impressed by the amount of information I was given to insure that I knew the risks of what I was doing, as well as what my skin reactions would be and after-care. I've been VERY pleased with the results. I love this office. I have found all of the people there to be extremely friendly and attentive- I'm not sure why all the negative comments about the staff. I've been going for over 5 years. Maybe you should forget emailing and just lift up the phone, that doesn't seem to be a good method of communication with them. Years of experience with this group makes me want to recommend them to anyone. I just went there yesterday, and was reminded of how much I like them. Added bonus- fairly inexpensive parking lot on the Geary side of the building."
