This lovely patient came to see Dr. Andrea Austin and was diagnosed with one of the most severe types of rosacea, called granulomatous rosacea. This particular variant of rosacea is rarer (about 10% of all rosacea diagnoses) and is characterized by facial redness, pustules, and bumps typically on the cheeks, nose, chin, forehead, or eyelids. Our providers are always looking for the underlying causes of rosacea and these differ from person to person, dictating unique treatment plans. For this patient's treatment plan, Dr. Austin included an oral RX, medical-grade topicals, and a combination of vascular laser treatments. Rosacea can be incredibly frustrating but we know it’s possible to not only have clear and comfortable skin but downright gorgeous skin, too!
