"I have been a patient at BACD for fifteen years. I trust Dr. Welsh and Dr. Austin--caring, kind, personable professionals who have taught me how to care for my skin so that it appears much younger than my sixty-six years. I have had several chemical peels over the years, and been very pleased with the results, so when I went to schedule another peel and Dr. Austin suggested Fontona Deep, I was ready. I had tolerated the peels well and was not anxious, so declined taking any meds before the procedure. The first step was to apply numbing cream to my entire face and throat for an hour before beginning. The Fotona process is, as Dr. Austin describes it, "spicy." I found the spiciness manageable until close to the eye area and throat, which was eased by inhaling some NO2. After we finished, my face and throat were covered with medication and balm, wrapped with gauze, and secured with netting. I easily drove myself home. For the next four nights I applied the provided balm, gauze, and netting. I had the procedure on a Monday afternoon and that Friday felt comfortable spending the weekend out of town. Given that one's skin looks pretty fierce at first, I was surprised at how quickly the redness dissipated, even though I had an idea from the photos that Dr. Welsh had taken chronicling her own procedure's recovery process. After two-and-a-half weeks my skin's appearance is much improved from pre-procedure, with only a small amount of redness remaining at my hairline and throat. I could not be more pleased with not only the Fontona results, but the results of fifteen years of excellent skincare guidance from Drs. Welsh and Austin. I love my skin. Thank you!"

"I started coming to BACD about a year ago for concerns related to aging and sun damage. I am 60 years old. I had Botox and Juvaderm treatments before, but I was interested in newer products that were being used by Dermatologist's, currently. I have exclusively seen Dr Austin. She is a top teaching Dr. with so much knowledge, experience, and expertise in skin related care and issues. I have had zero issues with booking and confirming my appointments. I always receive emails and texts, letting me know of my appointment status. When I arrive, the reception staff is always kind, efficient and helpful. In December I decided to take GLP1 to lose 30 lbs. I started at 180lbs. I am now at 152 lbs. I was told, by friends, and the media, that that much rapid weight loss could affect my skin around the neck, jawline, and face. I wasn't too worried, though because I knew that I had already been practicing a very good skin care routine and excellent filler and Xeomin results, based on my visits with Dr. Austin. I am completely thrilled that my skin, especially on my face and neck, is an excellent shape! I am on a maintenance routine with filler and Xeomin at this point. I highly recommend Dr Austin and BACD. She is kind, gentle, and very experienced and knowledgeable. All the staff are helpful and wonderful at what they do!"

Beautiful facility, with a kind and professional treatment team.Dr. Austin is one of the best doctors in California- and certainly the best the of the Bay Area. I’ve been treated for skin issues that other doctors cannot properly diagnose or treat. But Dr. Austin has phenomenal knowledge of skin, women’s health, and treatments for those that are multi-ethnic. (Like myself!) Most of all she educates the patient on how to care for their body and skin for the best long term effects. This includes having amazing products to treat the skin. A stubborn, dark brown spot had developed on my left cheek under my eye, which I struggled to conceal with foundation for years. She took the time to explain the science and reasoning for the bootcamp regiment she recommended. (I had just wanted to go in and laser off all of my spots instantly!) I followed her instructions and my results are absolutely amazing in a few short weeks!! Most of the browns spots are completely gone, especially the big brown one on the lower left cheek! She even told me I didn't need the follow-up laser treatment anymore and recommended a new and simple maintenance regiment. "I've been seeing Dr. Austin for nearly four years now and she is without a doubt the best dermatologist in SF. Dr. Austin is brilliant and ahead of all the latest, cutting edge treatments, warm and collaborative, and extremely perceptive. I go a few times a year for Botox and Clear + Brilliant treatments (mini laser to heal sun damage). My face tends to be very expressive when I talk, so before I started seeing Dr. Austin, I would accumulate frown/squint lines easily. I also have an active lifestyle and spend a lot of time outdoors in the sun. With the minimal number and dosage of treatments each year, my forehead wrinkles have disappeared, sunspots are gone, and my skin looks so healthy, smooth, and glowing to the point that I'm often told I look over a decade younger than my actual age. Dr. Austin is passionate about helping her clients look their best, and her positive, delightful energy pervades the clinic. She gets to know you as a patient and as a person, so the treatments are tailored uniquely for you, your lifestyle, and your goals for appearance. I want a natural, healthy look and we work together to choose treatment plans that best suit me. "I have been to many top dermatologists over the years, and Dr. Austin is most certainly among the very best. She came highly recommended by one of California's most well known plastic surgeons for her unique ability to keep patients looking natural and better, younger (in my case) versions of themselves. I am now in my 60s, and have done various laser treatments, Botox and fillers at BACD. Looking at the before/after photos from when I started seeing Dr. Austin three years ago vs. now is remarkable - my skin looks 10 years younger than it had. She is passionate about her work and her patients, and very conservative in what she does. She has full knowledge of the wide breadth of treatments the practice offers. I trust her implicitly and cannot write a strong enough recommendation!"
"I've tried so many skin care products to address my acne, scars, and texture over the years and nothing worked. Then I went to a "medical spa" to treat my skin issues, which was a big mistake because most med spas just hire sales reps who are not medically trained or certified. They burned my face badly, did not know how to fix it, and told me to try products that made the condition even worse. That was when I decided to consult a dermatologist for a second opinion and was so lucky I found Dr. Austin at BACD!During the initial consultation, Dr. Austin explained what was causing my skin problems, came up with a treatment plan, and answered all of my questions. She's an expert in her field with extensive medical knowledge about how skin reacts to multiple factors such as lifestyle choices or other medical conditions, and I trust that she's considering everything holistically whenever she recommends a treatment. It has been 6 months ever since I started seeing Dr. Austin and my skin looks better than ever. "I can’t say enough great things about BACD. I always have a great experience when I visit. I recently went in for a Sofwave treatment administered by Stacey Baenen, who is a fantastic practitioner, both in terms of skill and "bedside manner". She always puts me at ease and gives great advice. Dr. Austin also popped in for a few minutes to say hello and offer some advice - she always goes the extra mile, which shows how invested she is in her patients. "I have been seeing Dr. Austin for 4 years now. I initially saw her when I was experiencing some difficult to treat acne in my early 20s. She listened to my concerns and really educated me on proper skin care. Since then she has continued to help provide new products/recommendations based on my needs at that time. I have also been seeing her for filler and botox treatments for the past two years. She has always listened to what I wanted and given me incredible results. She keeps things natural and really has an amazing eye for the face and facial structure. Beyond her work, she is a really incredible doctor. Her bedside manner is unparalleled and she is always evidence based in her practice. She is a beautiful person who works hard to help others feel beautiful. 11/10 would recommend."
"This review is long overdue! Dr. Austin is incredible at treating rosacea!! Dr. Austin has been life changing for me and my skin. I found her online from searching frantically for someone for years in the Bay who had experience working with rosacea. Rosacea started for me in my early 30s, what felt like out of no where during grad school. After trying many other things, including strictly cutting out foods that were irritating I was still having intense rosacea breakouts. Dr. Austin took pictures, explained what was happening and we went over my skin routine. I learned how there are different types of rosacea, she explained what can irritate it (which can include natural oils!) and then she gave me a very specific skin care routine with products. I saw results almost immediately after using sticking to the topical routine. I recently saw her after 3 years of sticking to my regimen and my skin has greatly improved. I flare maybe a few times a year with stress but it will usually go away that day with combo ointment meant for rosacea. I have even seen lines on my forehead go away with one of the topicals, an added bonus! She is also very encouraging, has a warm bedside manner. If you have been dealing with skin issues and the confidence behind that look no further, Dr. Austin is worth it!"

I was advised to expect up to three treatments to remove all the damage, but the first application yielded such dramatic results, I did not need any additional ones. After the initial application, I looked like I had chicken pox, but after the scabs healed, my skin looked radiant! I would definitely trust Dr. Austin. She understands Asian skin (she is Asian herself) and is very experienced. KZF"

"Dr. Austin and team have worked with me on my rosacea and severe keloid scarring for several years. These are skin and body issues that other doctors cannot and will not treat. This clinic specializes in full service patient care. Meaning your medical issue will be addressed as well as the problem that may be causing it. And they work towards restorative care after the treatment. I wouldn't go anywhere else for my skin needs. If you need basic, cosmetic, or restorative skin care - this is where you need to be! I am leaving this review because people suffering from severe skin issues will need guidance on where to go. And we need this kind of expertise and medical care in the Bay Area."
"I have been seeing Dr. Austin for almost 3 years now for acne scars treatment and my skin is totally transformed. People think I look at least 10 years younger than my age. I would say that my acne scars have been improved by 80% after multiple sessions of tca cross and laser genesis. Most of my ice pick scars have filled in. Recently I also had Fraxel laser to improve the shallow scars , black spots, and overall skin texture. Dr. Austin is amazing and she cares about her patient. She would call me after the procedure to make sure that I was doing fine. She also responded very quickly on all my questions related to post-procedure. Now my skin has been improved further after fraxel laser. I will continue to see Dr. Austin for other treatments to keep my skin young and heathy so I don't age. Thank you Dr. Austin and her team. I've been seeing her for almost two years now for treatment of my rosacea and acne and skin is clearer than it's ever been, clearer than I ever hoped it would be. I first started seeing Dr. Austin in 2019, a few months after I turned 31. I'd been diagnosed with rosacea in middle school and had otherwise had fairly clear skin until I reached college. In college, I started breaking out more and more frequently until my acne was basically chronic. Some people in my family had late-bloomer acne, so I told myself it would probably just clear up as I got older, and I tried to take the best care of my skin that I could in the meantime. I tried every OTC treatment under the sun, went on different diets, and saw a series of dermatologists who put me on a range of topical medications and oral antibiotics. Nothing made much of a difference and by my late 20s I'd was so close to giving up and resigning myself to having bad skin for the rest of my life, although it made me feel miserable.That's when I realized that the one thing I hadn't tried was seeing a dermatologist who specializes in treating rosacea. I did some googling and Dr. Austin's name came up again and again, so I scheduled a consult. My expectations weren't high, given how little luck I'd had before. But Dr. Austin completely blew me away in the consult. Not only was she able to explain why my rosacea was causing these breakouts, but I was blown away by her empathy; she started the appointment by asking me to tell her about my history of rosacea and acne and after I went through the litany of things I'd tried she said, "I'm so sorry you had to go through that." It made me tear up to feel like someone cared and understood how much having bad skin can take a toll on self-esteem.She started me on a routine of oral medication and new topical skincare products, and did an excellent job of answering all my questions and explaining how each product or medication worked and why it was necessary. I noticed a difference in my skin within weeks, and once the breakouts were more under control we began a series of laser treatments to help tame the rosacea. As my skin continued to heal and improve, the treatments became less frequent, and I'm now at the point where I only have them a few times a year. My skin has healed enough that she's also able to address the scarring I have from acne and, honestly, that's a milestone I never thought I'd reach until I started working with her. She's continued to be a thoughtful and kind person, celebrating the milestones with me as my skin healed, remembering details about my personal life, and engaging me in conversation during the treatments; I feel like she really cares.As a bonus, the whole BACD staff is competent, professional, and friendly. They keep things running smoothly, call/email back quickly, and have a very flexible auto-ship program that sends my topical products to me four times a year. BACD has done a sterling job of adapting to the pandemic--they've put up signage, spaced out appointments, created physical distance in the waiting room, and changed their payment process so you pay in the treatment room. I've noticed some other places get lax with these types of measures as the pandemic has gone on, but BACD has been incredibly consistent, which I appreciate.If you have rosacea and acne, Dr. Austin is your gal. She's truly and completely changed my skin in a way I never thought possible. Nothing made much of a difference and by my late 20s I’d was so close to giving up and resigning myself to having bad skin for the rest of my life, although it made me feel miserable.That’s when I realized that the one thing I hadn’t tried was seeing a dermatologist who specializes in treating rosacea. I did some googling and Dr. Austin’s name came up again and again, so I scheduled a consult. My expectations weren’t high, given how little luck I’d had before. But Dr. Austin completely blew me away in the consult. Not only was she able to explain why my rosacea was causing these breakouts, but I was blown away by her empathy; she started the appointment by asking me to tell her about my history of rosacea and acne and after I went through the litany of things I’d tried she said, "I’m so sorry you had to go through that." It made me tear up to feel like someone cared and understood how much having bad skin can take a toll on self-esteem.She started me on a routine of oral medication and new topical skincare products, and did an excellent job of answering all my questions and explaining how each product or medication worked and why it was necessary. I noticed a difference in my skin within weeks, and once the breakouts were more under control we began a series of laser treatments to help tame the rosacea. As my skin continued to heal and improve, the treatments became less frequent, and I’m now at the point where I only have them a few times a year. My skin has healed enough that she’s also able to address the scarring I have from acne and, honestly, that’s a milestone I never thought I’d reach until I started working with her. She’s continued to be a thoughtful and kind person, celebrating the milestones with me as my skin healed, remembering details about my personal life, and engaging me in conversation during the treatments; I feel like she really cares.As a bonus, the whole BACD staff is competent, professional, and friendly. They keep things running smoothly, call/email back quickly, and have a very flexible auto-ship program that sends my topical products to me four times a year. BACD has done a sterling job of adapting to the pandemic--they’ve put up signage, spaced out appointments, created physical distance in the waiting room, and changed their payment process so you pay in the treatment room. I’ve noticed some other places get lax with these types of measures as the pandemic has gone on, but BACD has been incredibly consistent, which I appreciate.If you have rosacea and acne, Dr. Austin is your gal. "Dr. Austin is a freaking magician. I came in to see her for the Melasma I developed on my face due to high doses of estrogen/hormones I had to take from egg freezing / IVF treatments. I've been trying to treat this for years (oxygen treatments, laser treatments, supplements, vitamins, expensive creams/serums, diet) with no long-term results. It all changed when I saw Dr. Austin, and on top of putting my Melasma into remission, my skin condition improved dramatically, and randomly some post surgical scars faded due to the medication. "This review is long overdue. If I could give Dr. Austin 1000 stars, I would. I went to see Dr. Austin for my stubborn, life long problem skin, which started at age 11 with cystic acne, and morphed into constant hives, adult acne and rosacea subtype 2, and 4 in my early 30s. I had been seen by countless doctors about my skin including 4 different, highly rated SF dermatologists before Dr. Austin to try to treat my rosacea/acne/hives, including the UCSF autoimmune dermatology clinic. I had been prescribed creams, done lasers and changed my diet, but nothing made any difference at all. On my first visit, Dr. Austin assured me she was 100% confident she would cure my rosacea and fix my skin. CURE. That's a pretty big word in the medical community, and I admit I was skeptical. "I have struggled with severe acne for my whole life and have spent thousands of dollars on proactive, x-out, bioré, natural solutions like witch hazel, tea tree oil, etc. None of these products worked for me and some of them made my skin severely dry, red, or caused my hyper-pigmentation to be more noticeable. I was losing hope that I would ever have clear skin until I came across TCA peels (trichloroacetic acid) on youtube, I saw that there was a lot of positive reviews as well as horror stories , but I felt like I was out of options so I decided to set up a consultation at Bay Area Cosmetic Dermatology, I didn’t feel like my skin could get any worse so even if the skin peel didn’t work, I felt that It was still worth the risk. When I first arrived, it was a 250 dollar fee for new patients and they looked at my skin and offered several products for a skin care regiment and they told me that my skin issues were caused because my body produced a little more testosterone then a normal woman. They prescribe me spironolactone to help prevent further extreme break outs and tranexamic acid to help with my hyper-pigmentation, after one month I noticed a severe decline in break outs. Before I was on these medications I was getting 5 - 10 new pimples every week plus back acne, after being on these medications it was like 1 or 2 every month. After getting my acne settled, we then started to work on my hyper pigmentation, I had expressed that I wanted a TCA peel but Dr.Austin told me that with my skin tone a TCA peel would be too extreme and might remove the melanin from my skin. I didn’t want to ruin my skin tone but I also didn’t want the dark spots, Dr.Austin then recommended that I get a less deep peel and we decided to go with either a lactic acid peel or a glycolic acid peel. When I received my first peel I noticed dramatic changes. I still had a lot hyper pigmentation but it was very different from before. I am now 7 peels in and I am very happy with my results! I wish I would have come here sooner, it would have saved me thousands in skin care products that didn’t work for me. Each peel I received was 250$, and worth every penny. I had developed a really bad case of melasma on my cheeks, upper lip and I had gotten into a bike accident a year before. When I made an appointment they had asked me if I had a preference as to who I wanted to see. I was scheduled an appointment with Dr. Hui.At my first meet with Dr. Hui she confirmed that I did indeed have melasma and that my next step was to start getting chemical peels 4-6 weeks apart. Wow. Holy smokes! So far I've received 3 chemical peels and the melasma is almost gone. It's at the point where I am able to cover it up with just foundation. Yippee! At my most recent appointment I received my first laser treatment with Mary. I had a 1pm appointment and was seen quickly to start the numbing process. I have had 6 v beam laser sessions with Dr Hui in past 6 months, and my skin has transformed. I do not have to worry about switching products, looking for DYI face mask, or avoiding foods I like to eat. Her treatment plan is individualized, which I m sure of, and for me I simply follow her face regimen, use all products she recommend, and go to VBeam appointment every 4-6weeks. Additionally, two years ago I had an intensive peel and spots on the backs of my hands treated, and last year, a light peel. I also am not trying to look decades younger, only slow the external manifestations of aging. This goal is exactly what Dr. Welsh continues to achieve. She and along with her awesome, very polite and super knowledgeable assistant, Ariana, will service your skin needs in an unparalleled manner. I am all about one thing, which is results. As mentioned above I have spent and have been to numerous dermatologist that have wasted so much of my time and money. Before meeting with Dr. Hui I used countless creams, injections, peels, facials, etc.,etc.! As a result of so many failed attempts at fixing my scars and pigmentation I started to research, which lead me to Dr. Hui. "Acne, acne scars, hyper-pigmentation, discoloration, Bay Area Cosmetic Dermatolgy is the place to go! I have been to numerous dermatologist and estheticians in multiple states and have spend upwards of $5,000 before coming to Bay Area Cosmetic Dermatolgy and seeing Dr. Andrea Hui. As soon as Dr. Hui came in the room she knew exactly what I needed to fix my skin. She and along with her awesome, very polite and super knowledgeable assistant, Ariana, will service your skin needs in an unparalleled manner. I am all about one thing, which is results. As mentioned above I have spent and have been to numerous dermatologist that have wasted so much of my time and money. Before meeting with Dr. Hui I used countless creams, injections, peels, facials, etc.,etc.! As a result of so many failed attempts at fixing my scars and pigmentation I started to research, which lead me to Dr. Hui. Meeting with Dr. Hui was unrushed, which encouraged me to fully explain my history, unlike other dermatologist that gives you less then five minutes to explain. I did not want any more creams or facials being that none of that worked, which I made clear to Dr. Hui who completely understood. After talking with Dr Hui we settled on a treatment program, which included the V-Beam, Juvederm Ultra Plus, CO2 laser and subcision, lighting pads and ONE Retin-A cream. This program was not to take place at once but over time as I see her monthly. To tell you the truth, you will need more then one V-Beam session, currently I am on my fifth and my face is clearer then ever before. The subcision was performed when Dr. Hui put in Juvederm Ultra Plus, which took place around the fourth V-Beam session. Subcision along with filler helps with the appearance of acne scars, which Dr. Hui performs painlessly and meticulously. The filler allowed my face to look fuller - NOT botched - just smoother from the trauma left behind from my acne. My lighting pads came after my 2nd visit with Dr. Hiu. "Dr. Andrea Hui is an absolute miracle worker! I came to Dr. Hui extremely frustrated and defeated because my skin was the worst it has ever been - I had acne all over my chin and cheeks and red scars everywhere. Prior to coming to Dr. Hui, I tried everything to get rid of my acne including different dermatologists, several elimination diets and too many harsh skin care products that wouldn't clear up my skin but would just dry it out. I was referred to Dr. Hui by a friend who had been seeing her for a while and had completely cleared up her skin. I was extremely reassured after my first appointment with Dr. Hui as she was confident that she could help clear up my skin and I completely trusted her because I had seen her results on other people. She put me on a new skin care regimen (that I will never change because the products are amazing) and started me on v-beam laser to help fill in the acne scars. "Before I started seeing Dr. Hui and Dr. Welsh, I had very oily skin, frequent breakouts and a fair amount of redness and blemishes. I wore cover-up often and carried oil-absorbing sheets with me everywhere. Although I didn't have "severe acne," I was not satisfied with the appearance of my skin, and wished that I didn't need to manage it so much. At Bay Area Cosmetic Dermatology, I have had laser and resurfacing treatments with Dr. Hui, Mary, Claire and Mabel (who are amazing to work with!) and have seen pretty dramatic results in evening my skin complexion and texture, and getting rid of red blemishes. I was initially hesitant to invest in the skin care routine they recommended, as I hadn't had much success with products in the past, but I can honestly say that my skin has never been better. I actually have no problems with oil anymore, and maybe one pimple every few months, which is pretty amazing for me! "Dr. Hui completely transformed my skin and I cannot recommend her more highly! I have had rosacea for more than 20 years. In that time I have seen countless dermatologists (including some of the "best" in NYC and SF) and experimented with dozens of skincare products and prescriptions. The results have always been minimal and often made my face even redder and more irritated. This led to a general skepticism of dermatologists and feeling that the rosacea was just something I would have to live with. "Dr. Hui has been a godsend for my rosacea-prone, inflamed, acne-scarred skin that is highly sensitized to pretty much everything. I thought I'd tried every product out there for very sensitive skin (OTC as well as seeing other dermatologists), and had pretty much resigned myself to having to wear makeup every time I left the house so my face didn't look like a splotchy mess. But then I read great reviews about the practice and decided to see Dr. Hui, and my skin has been transformed. I told her my goal was to wear zero makeup, and we've been steadily progressing towards that goal with great results. She made me discard my overly complicated skincare routine and get back to basics. My skincare routine now takes 30 seconds in the morning and 2 minutes at night, and my skin looks so much better in every way. I've been using the products Dr. Hui recommended that have made a huge difference, and have also been getting V-beam laser treatments that have also been significant in getting rid of the diffuse redness throughout my face. "Dr. Hui is a miracle worker! I had been on BenzaClin, Differin, and oral antibiotics for almost a decade without much success. Right after my 24th birthday, my skin was worse than ever. "My daughter has had a rough road with acne. She has seen approximately 4 different dermatologists since the age of 13 and hadminimal success with her treatments. "I started to see Dra. Andrea Hui in the end of May (2015), because I had the most crazy acne during the whole semester, due to stress, and as I am not from United States it took me a while until I get to the clinic. I had some facials done in other places along the semester, but they weren't helpful at all, the acne just kept getting worst. When I finally got to see Dra. Hui was when everything started to change, she is an amazing person and really understands what your skin needs. As I am very anxious I firstly scheduled a consult to know more about the Fraxel laser, but she told me how we first needed to control the acne before treating the scars. The process is not easy and it can get very bad until it starts to get better, but you have to trust Dra. Hui and her assistant, Euridice because it is all part of the process. There is no shortcuts and you have to follow the routine and commit to the treatment, and they are the best people to help you get through it, not only because of their knowledge but because they are also very caring people. The first three months were the hardest for me, but from the fourth to the fifth things started to get really good, the breakouts were almost non-existent, and my skin texture was completely changed. I had a lot of redness from inflammation so before doing the Fraxel we did a couple of V Beam laser sections, and they were amazing, after the first one I didn't see a huge change, but after the second and the third I was very impressed. For me the worst part of having acne is that it makes you feel very bad to be in your own skin, and how the coverage that makeup gives still doesn't actually help to make you feel better. And I really like how Dra. Hui understands that, I really recommend her, she is very correct and professional, so you can trust her completely, she knows the steps and the right moment to do the different treatments that your skin might need. Some tips I would give is to schedule your consult in a day and time you will probably leave the clinic and go home, it is easier to do the procedures in days you don't need to be anywhere afterwards. And mostly if you have problems with acne get it treated with a great professional such as Dra. Hui and her staff, because there are so many products and false promises out there, and to have the guidance of someone who actually knows what she is doing is the only way to have real and lasting improvement."

"Doing Me - Botox, Belotero, & VBeam for Variety of Concerns - San Francisco, CA - It's been a few months since I was summarily broken up with by my former partner of 14 years and right before Valentine's was in an emotional place to focus on ME. I had noticed over the last year that my rosacea was getting worse and the under-eye area was getting noticeably "deeper" and not as full as it once was. In addition, having been raised in the sun, I have had a history of skin cancer (basal & squamous) and wanted to find a Dermatologist who could address the medical & my cosmetic needs. After asking friends who they recommend for a Dermatologist, I made an appointment with Dr. Hui. I could not be more pleased. I've seen Dr. Hui twice and I'm thrilled with my skin elasticity, glow, lift, lightness, and overall appearance! The great part is that I don't look "pulled back" or "plastic" or radically different in any way. I look like me and no one has said to me that I look like I've had "work done." The comments that I've had from friends and family is that I look like I'm glowing and no one knows what I've done! My first visit in February with Dr. Hui was to address the areas on my forehead and eye area with Botox. I had zero bruising and it didn't hurt! I expected the injections to hurt from what I had seen on tv but it didn't! I also had Belotero to fill in the deep recesses of my under eye area and immediately I saw the difference! For more 'intensive' procedures like laser, Dr. Hui and the lovely Medical Assistants do their utmost to minimize any discomfort with icepacks, numbing cream, and prednisone. I've had no bruising or discomfort from any of the procedures I've undergone. While there were needles involved with the Botox and Belotero, I didn't feel any pain whatsoever which really surprised me because I bruise very easily. On my second visit, Dr. Hui addressed my pre-cancerous spots, removed a number of skin tags, and I under went the VBeam laser treatment to my entire face to address the redness due to rosacea. Dr. Hui once again was very upfront about the procedure, costs, why she recommended the VBeam, and made sure that I was very comfortable and numb before the laser treatment. The laser treatment went actually faster than I thought it would and she did my entire face and it didn't hurt as much as I was expecting it to. What I appreciate about Dr. Hui is that she is a genuinely caring person and is passionate about her work which comes through. Dr. Hui isn't just a 'pusher' of products which I presume could be 'easy' for a Dermatologist. Dr. Hui takes you, your face, and issues/concerns into consideration and doesn't want to 'fix what's broken'. I have more treatments planned to address the redness of my skin and she'll continue to monitor my pre-cancerous spots and I look forward to seeing her again. I highly recommend seeing Dr. Hui for all your skin needs. Not only is she a great physician but she's really a very approachable and caring person."
"Innovative Keloid Scar Treatment - San Francisco, CA - I was introduced to Dr. Hui in San Francisco through Dr. Welsh's practice. I learned that Dr. Hui had extensive experience treating keloids in Brooklyn and was working on a new and innovative treatment. I was very interested in learning more about this procedure as I have been battling numerous keloid scars on my face, chest, and back for several years now. She performed a type of interlesional cryotherapy where the keloid was frozen from the inside. This was my first time trying this procedure so I initially tried it on one of the lesions. After 2 weeks we saw the progress and decided to perform the same procedure on 2 more lesions. After about 4 months, 2 treatments on 1 lesion and 1 treatment on the other 2 lesions, I am happy to say that they have decreased significantly (about 85-90% in size). "I love this place and the work they do! I opted for a fraxel treatment when considering major work, including plastic surgery. Dr. Hui performed the treatment and I am so happy with the results that I believe it was a much better alternative to surgery.
