Kathrine McCormick, RN (aka Katie Mac) has been a member of Bay Area Cosmetic Dermatology for twenty years. She received her bachelor’s in the Science of Nursing from Sonoma State University and has been providing excellent service as a Registered Nurse since 1991. The first decade of her nursing career included post-neurosurgical and post-orthopedic surgery care. Katie then connected with Dr. Welsh in 2001 while working for a mobile cosmetic laser company. This experience allowed Katie to gain firsthand experience in the rapidly evolving field of cosmetic lasers. The exposure taught her to understand not only the technical aspects of cosmetic procedures but also the individual needs of patients seeking aesthetic enhancements.
In 2005, Dr. Welsh asked Katie to join Bay Area Cosmetic Dermatology and her extensive nursing experience continued to flourish. The collaborative environment with physicians and other healthcare professionals at BACD make for a comprehensive approach to patient care. Katie serves each patient with a high level of confidence and expertise, offering knowledge gained from a background in the medical field as well as dermatology.
Katie is a Bay Area native, born and raised in Berkeley, CA. She is married and has boy/girl twins. She loves spending time with family, gardening and taking long walks. She feels exceptionally lucky to have both a family and a job she loves.

Dr. Austin, Dr. Welsh, Nurse Katie, Concierge Julie, and other staff members are a gift. Thanks to their expertise, I look a whole lot better now.
