With three decades of clinical nursing experience, Stacey Baenen, RN, combines technical expertise, tacit knowledge, and compassionate care in every patient interaction.
Stacey began her nursing career in 1996 in the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit of Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago, one of the country’s leading academic medical centers. After relocating to San Francisco in 1998, she transitioned to dermatology and cosmetic plastic surgery at the renowned Marten Clinic of Plastic Surgery as a surgical nurse and, later, as the practice’s Nurse Manager. Stacey later joined Spa Radiance, where she launched the practice’s medical division specializing in injectables, laser treatments and many other non-surgical dermatological procedures.
Stacey became a part of the Bay Area Cosmetic Dermatology team in 2011 after being a long-time patient and admirer of Dr. Kathleen Welsh and her practice. Since then, she has earned a reputation for delivering exceptional results with a warm, reassuring approach that puts patients at ease. As a clinician, Stacey specializes in bespoke skincare consultations with BACD patients, providing each with a customized plan that addresses their unique needs. While she brings a broad range of clinical cosmetic dermatology experience to every interaction, Stacey’s specialties include a variety of cosmetic lasers, neuromodulator injectables (Botox/Xeomin), chemical peels, PRP, and skin tightening therapies (Ultherapy/Thermage/Sofwaves). As one of BACD’s “Skin Angels”, she has a true passion in helping her patients look and feel their best.
Originally from Iowa, Stacey holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Iowa and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Loyola University Chicago. She is a proud, long-time resident of San Francisco’s Richmond District and a devoted mother to three daughters, two of whom are now nurses.
Beyond her professional career, Stacey is an active member of the Olympic Club and has served on the boards of the National Charity League and the Elon University Parents Council. She loves to travel and has an undeniable soft spot for her beloved dog named, Buckle.

I can't say enough great things about BACD. I always have a great experience when I visit. Today I went in for a Sofwave treatment administered by Stacey Baenen, who is a fantastic practitioner, both in terms of skill and "bedside manner". She always puts me at ease and gives great advice. Dr. Austin also popped in for a few minutes to say hello and offer some advice - she always goes the extra mile, which shows how invested she is in her patients. I am really impressed with everyone at BACD - everyone is friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. I highly recommend this practice.
