Meet Dr. Shannon Watkins

Shannon Watkins, MD FAAD, is a board-certified dermatologist committed to providing her patients with the most up-to-date care and treatment options. She is passionate about helping her patients look and feel their best in a comfortable, relaxed environment. Her professional interests include aesthetic dermatology, acne, rosacea, and hair loss (having completed specialized training in both). She welcomes the opportunity to meet and care for new patients in her community. Dr. Watkins loves treating acne, rosacea, hair loss, helping patients perfect their skincare regimen, and performing subtle aesthetic treatments to help patients look their best.

Education and Training

Dr. Watkins completed her Dermatology residency training at New York-Presbyterian Hospital/ Weill Cornell Medical Center in New York City (also serving on the Dermatology housestaff at the adjacent Memorial-Sloan Kettering Cancer Center). She then completed a Hair and Cosmetics fellowship with pioneering hair-transplant surgeon Dr. Marc Avram, thereafter serving on medical staff for almost a decade, while simultaneously maintaining an Assistant Clinical Professorship (Dermatology) at Weill Cornell. She completed her medical training at the Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons, and her undergraduate degree in Biology (Cum Laude) at Brown University.

Experience

Dr. Watkins has significant experience in the diagnosis and treatment of a broad array of skin conditions, including hair loss and restoration, acne, rosacea, melasma, psoriasis, eczema, and sun damage. In consultation, she will discuss your goals, recommend and align with you on a bespoke suite of advanced aesthetic techniques to help you achieve the best version of yourself.

These include:

  • Neuromodulators such as Botox, Xeomin, and Dysport
  • Fillers such as Juvederm, Restylane and Belotero
  • Laser and microneedling treatments to refresh and rejuvenate the skin

Personal

When not seeing patients, Dr. Watkins enjoys spending time with her husband and two children enjoying their newly adopted home in SF: surfing, skiing, doing yoga, trying new restaurants, and traveling home to visit her family in Hawaii.
