Restylane adds volume and fullness to the skin to correct moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, such as the lines from your nose to the corners of your mouth (nasolabial folds). Restylane can also add fullness and definition to lips in patients over 21 years, providing natural-looking and lasting results with just one treatment. Learn more aboutRestylane for lip enhancement.
Restylane works immediately by adding volume to smooth away wrinkles. A clear gel formulation of hyaluronic acid,Restylane is specifically formulated to act like your body’s own hyaluronic acid. So, you can use Restylane to visibly reduce moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, and to add fullness to your lips.
Treatment volume should be limited to 6.0 mL in wrinkles and folds, such as nasolabial folds, and limited to 1.5 mL per lip (Restylane only), as greater amounts significantly increase moderate and severe injection site reactions. If a volume of more than 3 mL total is needed to achieve optimal correction for lip enhancement, a follow-up treatment session is recommended.
Biocompatible with the human body, Restylane is eventually broken down naturally.
How does Perlane work?
Just like Restylane, Perlane adds volume and fullness to the skin to correct moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, such as the lines from your nose to the corners of your mouth (nasolabial folds). Like Restylane, Perlane is a clear gel formulation of hyaluronic acid that is specifically formulated to add volume like your body’s own hyaluronic acid.
What makes Perlane different is the average size of the particles and the depth of injection. On average, the gel particles in Perlane are larger than those inRestylane, which makes Perlane a good choice for wrinkles that benefit from a deeper injection into the skin.In three clinical studies of 150 patients each, on average 70% of patients maintained improvement for six months after just one Perlane treatment.

Where can the Restylane family be used?
The Restylane family can be used to add volume and fullness to the skin to correct moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, including the lines from your nose to the corners of your mouth (nasolabial folds or laugh lines).
The Restylane family can also be used in other moderate to severe facial wrinkles such as lipstick lines— the area just below the nose and above the upper lip; the corners of the mouth; and marionette lines—the area that extends downward from the corners of the mouth to the jawline.

Treatment volume should be limited to 6.0 mL in wrinkles and folds, such as nasolabial folds, and limited to 1.5 mL per lip (Restylane only), as greater amounts significantly increase moderate and severe injection site reactions. The safety or effectiveness of treatment in areas other than nasolabial folds and lips (Restylane only) has not been established in controlled clinical studies.
After treatment, you might have some swelling, redness, pain, bruising, or tenderness. These are typically mild in severity and normally last less than 7 days in nasolabial folds and less than 14 days in lips. Swelling may be more likely in patients under 36 years, and bruising may be more likely in patients over 35 years.
